This will be an exciting opportunity to go deep into Pranayama Sadhana. learn and experience the science and control of the Prana and breath, in the Gitananda Tradition. You can take this course online only (200hours) or include the residential intensives (500hours).

This course is primarily for Yoga Teachers who wish to expand and deepen the knowledge and experience of Pranayama (breath and energy direction and control). This tradition is probably one of the most well-known for its bredth and depth in the science of life force Prana, which it why it has a 'breath-taking' 120 long list of just pranayama practices, tha have been passed down from Guru to chela in this living tradtion of an unbroken lineage!

Commitment:
On-line meeting one Sunday a month for approx 6 hours, and inbetween Sundays for 1 hour Sadhana practice together (or in your own time).
In Person Training options for full 500 hrs certification::
At the end of each full year you can attend a residential course at ICYER, India or YSA, Wales UK, or Portugal.

Please note every Sunday in-between the above dates we meet for 1-hour sadhana practice together, it is not compulsory to attend live, you can watch the play back as soon as possible, but it is a good sadhana to come together each week.
We expect you to always attend live the full day classes once a month unless under special circumstances you can watch the recording.
About the course content:
The Gitananda Traditon mentions 120 Pranayamas, all of which will be discussed however please note not all will be practiced as many require years of foundational work and should only be practiced in an ashram setting or with a strict yogic lifestyle, diet etc. due to their intensity.
Course will cover these 10 types of Yoga Pranayamas:

i. Healing breaths
j. Rejuvinators
The advanced year two Practices cover a further 36 Pranayamas from the Samyama and Shakti Pranayama groups.
This course will be lead in stages and it will be possible to take only the first part of the course if you wish, but you will not be able to select the other parts without completing the previous ones:
Year 1
· Level 1: on line meeting once a month Sundays for 6 hours, plus sadhana inbetween.
· Level 2: A 14 day Residential stay at Ashram (= 200hrs total Certification)
Year 2:
· Level 3: 2nd year continuing on line one Sunday a month, plus sadhana commitment inbetween.
· Level 4: 21 day residential stay at Ashram at the close of the 2nd year (= 500hrs complete Gitananda Pranayama Teacher certification)

How much is the course?
Online component is total: £980 per year;
Which is usually paid as £200 initial deposit to secure your place, then £65 per month till the course end.
Residentials: This price will vary depending on if you attend in India, Wales, Portugal as each country has different living costs! We will give a definite price nearer to the start date however as a guideline India £1400 for 2 weeks and Wales UK £1900 for two weeks, including food accommodation and course materials (not including travel costs to and from the ashram).
